先斗町 は京都市中京区に位置し、鴨川と木屋町通の間にある花街。

What is Pontocho?

This street was named from the English word “point” and the Portuguese word “ponta” (point). In contrast to the hustle and bustle of Kawaramachi, the narrow end of this street, which has a quiet atmosphere, is lined with old ryotei (restaurants) and chaya (geisha houses).

SL Pontocho is a recreation of the RL Geisha district in Kyoto, Japan. We are a group of cultured traditional ladies who live an SL lifestyle of a RL geisha. What you will find is traditional geisha entertainment, never an escort.

SL Pontocho  offers authentic Japanese “ozashiki” or banquets hosted by geisha and maiko hidden away in the recreational alleyway of Pontocho. Traditional forms of Japanese art such as fan dancing and performing on instruments like the koto, shamisen, and taiko drums are offered as entertainment.
